III INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON TEACHING INNOVATION IN UNIVERSITY TRAINING IN IMPLANT DENTISTRY
Viareggio,Italia, january 23-24, 2026
Postgraduate training in oral implantology encompasses the integration of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical experience for the successful treatment of patients with dental implants.
From a theoretical perspective, the incorporation of online training through virtual platforms has revolutionized the teaching of conceptual content in oral implantology. The implementation of numerous activities in the form of courses, symposia, and congresses in this new setting has provided professionals with ongoing access to webinars, which have created a crucial theoretical framework for postgraduate training in oral implantology.
From a practical perspective, workshops where postgraduate students can reproduce various surgical and prosthodontic techniques sequentially and under the guidance of professors on synthetic or animal models represent a significant advancement in practical implant training. In this way, students become familiar with and practice both the instruments and the various procedures that comprise current implant techniques.
Teaching innovation has also been incorporated into clinical practice in postgraduate university training in oral implantology. New digital workflow technologies have become tools that allow for better patient treatment planning, as well as the presentation of clinical cases tutored by faculty to subsequently achieve a favorable treatment sequence with long-term functional and aesthetic success.
For the past 20 years, the Master's Programs in Oral Implantology at the Spanih University has been a leading university forum for interdisciplinary training and discussion in postgraduate education related to dental implant treatment, with extensive teaching experience in the theoretical, practical, and clinical fields, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
In this context, the objective of this III International Meeting on Teaching Innovation in University Training in Oral Implantology, organized by the Latin American Society of Oral Implantology (SIOLA), is to present current trends related to the new critical horizons in postgraduate university implantology training.
